Abstract The presented research article describes the design and fabrication of a dual axis solar tracking system. To track the sun's movement, the proposed system utilizes an effective array method. The operation of a dual axis solar tracking system is based on the Azimuth-Altitude principle which helps to move the solar panel in both horizontal and vertical directions. The proposed system uses a 32-bit ARM microcontroller. The microcontroller is interfaced with the light dependent resistors sensor module and a DC worm gear motor to rotate the system. For comparison purposes, the single axis solar tracking system is also implemented. The experimental results show that the dual axis solar tracking system provides more energy, in contrast to the single axis solar tracking system. The dual axis solar tracking system produces approximately 189.75Wh per day in comparison to a single axis solar tracking system. A dual axis solar tracking system is preferred for fulfilling the energy demands since it
